Displaying the EAN code can be helpful. The International Article Number (also known as European Article Number or EAN) is a standard describing a barcode symbology and numbering system used in global trade to identify a specific retail product type, in a specific packaging configuration, from a specific manufacturer. For example:
EAN: 9782067212572
would be added to the product description while displaying a Michelin Green Guide Switzerland.
There are four options:
1) EAN code is not active
2) EAN code is active but hidden
If a barcode reader is attached to the YourShop POS, it is active, but customers cannot see the EAN code
3) EAN code is active and visible
e.g. EAN: 9782067212572
4) EAN code is active and visible, as is also the "Copy to Clipboard" link (c)
e.g. EAN: 9782067212572 (c)
Clicking on (c) copies 9782067212572 into the clipboard.
This can be helpful if you want to paste the product's EAN code for example, into an ERP.
Please note:
If your shop is connected to the Crésus ERP, the EAN field contains the alphanumeric Article Number, that is the value of the IDA field.
